WEEK 2:

WEEK 4:

WEEK 5:

  • Painting the ceiling

So you know how you watch a movie and the sequel was to be the prequel? Well this is it.lol. I was to do paint the ceiling long before now but wasnt too sure if I wanted texture, wallpaper, art, or simply a plain ceiling. After weeks of contemplating, I decided I wanted to do something different. the ceiling color was the original builder grade color and I wanted to use SW dashing (flat) for the ceiling.

People usually overlook the ceiling and leave it neutral. It needs love too! The only thing that it gets is lights, vents and dust. Its lonely looking down on all the vibrant colors and textures below it. I want to have textures, geometric shapes, color and vibrancy in the space.

I chose to do an accent ceiling with Sherwin Williams color of the year, Redend point. Usually with my projects, I chose a space and have something accented with the color of the year. I love the warmth of this color and I didn't want it to be overbearing so bold lines throughout the ceiling is what I went for. Im so excited for the tranformation. Since its the primary bedroom, the spouse has a say so and If it was up to me, I would have went all out but I dimmed it down just a little bit, lol.

I didnt use any stencil and I wanted to be freeformed so it took a little more time to do so but it was worth it. I dont like the ladder as I am afraid of heights, lol. But I had to do it. Lets see how it turns out. I still have some touching up to do but for now, this it!!

Still to do:

  • window treatment

  • entry door/bathroom door change

  • floating dresser

  • end table to order

  • bed

  • area rug

  • accent chair

  • bed storage

  • accessories/decor

  • soundbar install

While you are here, check out the previous weeks to see my progress and follow the other participants as they try to complete the one room challenge. There is only 3 weeks left ya'll!!!
